In early July Mr. Meloni packed his bags for the 2026 2026 EinsteinPlus Teacher Program at the famous Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario. He was one of just 38 high school physics teachers from 11 countries worldwide. This gave him the chance to learn directly from scientists working at the absloute cutting edge of modern science.
The Perimeter Institute is known globally for tackling huge questions in theoretical physics. The whole point of the program was to turn these mind-bendingly complex ideas into hands-on activities that teachers can bring back to their own students.
Throughout the week, the group dived into fascinating topics like dark matter, gravity, and cosmology - exploring everything from tiny subatomic particles to the massive scale of the universe.
To wrap things up, they also got a behind-the-scenes look at the state-of-the-art labs over at the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo.
